Threaded Needle offers a mentoring, design and education service to local nonprofit organizations (see Philosophy for more details).
Threaded Needle was conceived by Rebecca [White] Mushtare (click here to view her personal site), a "maker" and a current full time faculty member at Marymount Manhattan College (MMC). Rebecca teaches workshops and courses in Digital Media (including, but not limited to: web design, blogging, flash animation, interactive multimedia, physical computing, using "sharing" sites, etc.).
Her research interests include "Visual Communications for a Better World," the "privilege of our cyborg culture" and "technology and craft." In her courses at Marymount she often works on projects with her students in partnership with community organizations.
